Protocol for Posting Non-profit Events on Website

The One City Youth Initiative is a joint initiative of the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education, and Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice. The purpose of the website onecityyouth.dc.gov, managed by DMHHS, is to serve as a portal for all things children and youth.

DC government websites—calendars and announcements in particular—include information about DC government-sponsored events only. This policy does not comport with the purpose of onecityyouth.dc.gov and so the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services, Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, and Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education have developed a policy for onecityyouth.dc.gov.

In order for DMHHS to post non-DC government (community) information on the website, the organization must:

1. Supply the following information upon submission of news and events:

• Organization information:  Name of organization, phone, email, address, website address (URL)
• Name and phone number for executive director
• Name, phone, and email for contact person for event/news
• URL for the event.  Note:  DMHHS will link to fliers but will not post fliers as attached documents on the website.

2. Ensure the following information is included in flyers, notices, etc.:  Basic organizational information name of organization, name of contact person, and phone or email for contact person.

The Office of the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services will review each request to post information. It may ask community-based organizations for more information and it may reject requests. For questions or concerns, please contact dmhhs@dc.gov or (202) 727-7973.
