Inaugural Civili-Tea Citywide Creative Expression Contest Reception
You are cordially invited to a reception to honor the winners of the Inaugural Civili-Tea Citywide Creative Expressions Art Contest. This reception will take place on June 13, 2014 at the Pepco Edison Place Gallery (702 8th St NW, Washington, DC 20068) from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. Reception is free and open to the public. The top three winners of the Civili-tea Contest will be announced at the reception and prizes will be awarded. The artwork submitted for the contest will be displayed on the walls of the gallery. There will be refreshments following the ceremony.
About the Contest
The High Tea Society is hosting The Inaugural Civili-Tea Citywide Creative Expression Art Contest in collaboration with PEPCO, WMATA, DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative and the Council of Churches of Greater Washington. Students in Grades 5 through 10 from DCPS and DC Public Charter schools will create artwork expressing the theme "What does civility mean to you?" Judges from some of the leading arts organization such as the Phillips Collection and the National Museum for Women in Arts will decide on the top three overall winners, who will recieve a cash prize and have their artwork displayed on a Metro bus.
