The Arts & Humanities Festival at St. Elizabeth's East is a free festival series showcasing the history, culture and community of Ward 8 in Washington, DC. Held from 11:00pm-4:00pm on July 27th, the kick-off event features an exciting scope of activities, live performances, art exhibits, readings and workshops that will be fun for the entire family. Mayor Vincent C. Gray will start the festival with an opening ceremony beginning at 11:30 am.

July 27th festival event line-up includes live performances by emerging local vocalist IhsAn Bilal, Rapper, AB The Producer, Anthony Anderson and the cast of the internet sensation 'Anacostia The Series', and the East of the River Steel Drum Band. Special narratives provided by noted author, Dr. Courtney Davis of 'A is for Anacostia', Jay Coleman, Honorable Baba-C Griot and Dianne Dale are sure to be fun for children (and adults) of all ages! Don't miss out of the amazing community art installation piece led by Albus Cavus! The DMV Food Truck Association's ‘Curbside Cook Off’ will happen alongside this fun-filled day for area families. Tons of tasty treats available for purchase starting at 12pm!
